From August 31st to September 20th, 2023, Zhian Fadhil Asaad, a lecturer in the English Department at the College of Basic Education represented Iraq in a course organized by the international center of teacher training at East China Normal University.
The center conducted a successful course for Education Administrators from (14) Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries in China- Shanghai. The aim of the course was to raise awareness, familiarize the participants with the procedures and outcomes of the educational reform, and bring together Education Administrators from BRI countries in China to connect countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East to discuss and share China’s best practices, strategies, and reforms and alternative approaches used in the process of educational reform in Basic Education. The ECNU Shanghai government-funded scholarship was another highlight of this course. The 2023–2024 application phase of the Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students is currently open. Scholarships are available for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in Shanghai. The scholarship seeks to attract outstanding and smart students and scholars from various countries around the world to promote education, culture, trade, exchanges in education and politics, cooperation, and mutual understanding between other countries and China. International students from all over the world are eligible to apply. In addition to the above points, some other important points regarding the improvement of the level of teachers and students have also been discussed.
